

Country Crock Dumplings
Ingredients
- 2 Cups Flour
- 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1 Cup Whole Milk
- 4 Tablespoons Oil
- --Sauce:--
- 3 Tablespoons Butter
- 4 Tablespoon Flour
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1 Cup Milk
- 2 Crumbled Chicken Bouillon Cubes
- 1/2 teaspoon Sugar
- 1/2 – 3/4 Cups of the dumpling cooking water
Directions
Combine all the ingredients together except for the sauce ingredients and mix until well blended Knead about 4 or 5 times and divide the dough in 1/2, roll out one part until it is about 1/2 inch thick Cut into 1 and 1/2 inch strips - place into a large pan with boiling water and 3 chicken bouillon cubes Cook just until done and then repeat with the other 1/2 of the dough.
FOR THE SAUCE
Melt the butter and add the flour and salt and stir until thick Mix the sugar with the milk then add this to the flour mix a little at a time while whisking Once this is thick and smooth- remove from the heat and place the cooked dumplings into the sauce Add 1/2 cup of the cooking water, stirring gently and simmer on low until it is all blended Add more cooking water if needed.
